Governor Abbott Makes it Official: Running For 2022 Re-election

Now that the Texan Governor has made it official, he will have to quite a task ahead with several primary challengers in the fray, including Allen West and Beto O’Rourke. On Saturday, Abbott went ahead and announced that he was seeking to come for a third term. This announcement came in the midst of a re-election campaign that he had begun. In an event in McAllen, the Governor took to the crowds and announced his candidature for 2022. Fox News reported this.

On a Campaign trail

According to Pehal News, Abbott had been a vocal supporter of former president Trump especially on building a wall between the US-Mexico border. The Governor has reiterated in the faith of carrying forward despite hurdles presently being faced. He went to say that more businesses were looking forward to shifting base to Texas, giving more employment opportunities to the locals. With real estate and the cost of living cheaper, many tech companies and other businesses have felt that Texas is quite the place to set up.

The Republican has also reminded the public of keeping his promises on Rio Grande Valley with a Level 1 trauma center. He also vowed to secure the future of Texas. 

Other candidates

Abbott is still the public favorite among the other Republicans who bid for the 2022 election campaign. Other names joining in, Senator Don Huffines, criminal defense attorney Paul Belew and business owner Danny Harrison queuing up to replace Abbott. Newsvok.com reported this.

Abbott has full faith that he will surpass the odds in the re-election and get the mandate in his favor. Seeking a third term with his supporters and team by his side, he feels he has fulfilled his promises to fellow Texans and is ready for this leap of faith.
