Ron DeSantis’ License Denial of Sheltering Migrant Children Becomes State Issue

Florida has been a state to shelter migrant children with or without parents. The purpose has been a better way of living and getting career opportunities. Several shelter homes have been created to provide sheds to unaccompanied kids over their heads in Florida.

However, the governor of the state, Ron DeSantis, has denied licenses to the shelter properties of the migrant orphaned kids. This has raised great concern among the unaccompanied children and their shelter runners in the state. 

Why did Ron DeSantis deny licenses to the shelters of unaccompanied migrant children?

As per the reports, migrant children are often sent to Florida and other states of the USA deliberately by their parents from Central and South America so that they can find a better way of living. Nevertheless, illegal immigration has been a national concern as crime has been increasing with each day of rising trespassing.

Many a time, migrant children unlawfully run away from their countries to get away with certain crimes they have committed there. Considering the issues Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has stopped licensing the shelter. This step of the state law-maker has been a reason for uneasiness between the state and the federal government of the nation.

The shelter homes have also expressed their dissatisfaction with the license ban. Even after a year of stopping the license, the issue between the shelters and the state government hasn’t been solved. One of the ambassadors from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) has recently leaked information regarding license denial and approval with Katie LaGrone, Investigating Reporter.

The insights have brought the attention of the national media as well as the concerned citizens of the state.

What is the present status of shelters for unaccompanied migrant children after their license ban?

While renewing their license to attend to migrant children, one of the shelter house companies named Lutheran Services of Florida, filed a case and won following their license renewal. There are organizations that have been maintaining their shelters properly by following the law, yet the DCF is questioning them.

The latter hasn’t given any statement either. Ron DeSantis, as well as the DCF, are yet to reveal information related to how many shelters have been denied and approved for their license renewal. 

However, the shelters aren’t being vocal about their rights even though they possess legal permissions. They stay quiet for fear of getting penalized by the DCF. The national government is also ensuring that the shelters for unaccompanied migrant children in Florida. This has caused a battle-like situation between Ron DeSantis’ regulations and the shelter homes.
