Tony’s Pizza Napoletana, regarded as one of the best pizza restaurants in San Francisco, has introduced a new pizza combo worthy of a toast: the “Up in Smoke” combo is a wood-fired pizza comes with an official pre-rolled joint pairing.
Pre-Rolled Joint As Pizza Pairing
Jeremy Fish, a well-known local artist and a former burger inspector for SFGATE, is responsible for the surreal illustrations that adorn the pizza and the joint.
According to SF Gate, Tony’s collaborated with North Beach Pipeline, the first pot business in the area, to develop the combo.
Fish said that the combination of pizza, pot, and art is a celebration of North Beach, the city’s historic Italian district, of which the artist has been named the “unofficial mayor.”
Fish expressed his optimism that it will result in an increase in the number of tourists visiting the area, which has been suffering as a direct result of the pandemic.
Recent Italian rankings of the top pizzerias in the world ranked Tony’s Pizza Napoletana at number 10. On a wood-fired multigrain dough, it’s new “Up in Smoke” pizza features a smoky combination of candied bacon, smoked mozzarella, tomato, basil, and volcano salt.
There’s this one-gram pre-roll called “Tony’s Pizza Joint” that costs $15 and is stuffed with Mother’s Milk and dipped in kief. The Pipeline weed dispensary specially sourced this joint with Tony’s pizza. The joint, according to Fish, has a nice herbal flavor.
Fish, whose wacky artwork has been used everywhere, from New Balance sneakers to San Francisco trolley cars, illustrated the establishment and pizza packaging. One-half of a famous 1970s stoner comedy pair is depicted on the pizza box, wearing a red beanie and suspenders.
In addition, Fish drew the artwork for the packaging so that the character’s body will outline the user’s face if they wear the bib.
“It’s a selfie opportunity, and you can keep the pizza from spilling on your clothes,” Fish said, as quoted in the report.
