The fire occurred in Northwest Harris County in the Houston neighborhood. A Houston home reportedly saw the death of a grandmother and three others getting hospitalized. The fire began in the early morning, at 5 a.m. However, the firefighters contained the fire to a single room, as reported to Fox news. The firefighters happened to get the family on time to the hospital while they could not save the grandmother, who was already dead inside the home. However, the three other family members had a narrow escape though they inhaled smoke. They are in stable condition now.
What occurred
When the fire started, the grandmother was with are two granddaughters, her daughter’s and son-in-law. It was the home of the grandmother’s daughter. Though the daughter was able to escape unhurt, the other four weren’t as lucky.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The authorities found the 53-year-old grandmother dead upon arrival. At the same time, the father and the two children were found outside their home in an unresponsive state, as reported by the County Sheriff to WRGA local News. Since the smoke alarms were not in working condition, the family did not detect the blaze and found it hard to escape.
The escape from the blaze
According to englishtimes.uk The trio was then taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. They were later listed in stable condition. The father apparently had cuts to his body trying to save the family.
After investigation, it was found the family did not have working smoke alarms in place at the time of the tragedy. Investigators are yet to find out the cause of the fire at the time of contacting the Sheriff’s Department of reporting to Fox News.
