Isaac Sims Pleads Guilty to Murder Five Years After, Receives 35 Years in Prison

On April 28, 2018, a 21-year-old Galena Park man, Isaac Sims shot and killed Luis Carlos Flores. Nearly five years after the shooting incident, he pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Galena Park Man Isaac Sims Allegedly Killed His Friend

Isaac Sims shot and killed his friend Luis Carlos Flores on the 28th of April 2018.

According to the investigation, on the night of the murder, Isaac Sims and Flores met up to sell a pair of pistols. They have known each other for years and they both lived in Galena Park.

Police authorities said that while they were sitting in the car to meet with the buyer of the pistol, Isaac Sims shot Flores in the chest and head, KHOU reported. He then put his body in the backseat and pushed the car into Hunting Bayou along Dunaway Street and Federal Road.

When the car was dragged out of the bayou, investigators found Isaac Sims’ DNA in Flores’ back pocket and on the gearshift. Eyewitnesses also told police authorities that Issac Sims told them he killed Flores.

Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said that Flores was a friend of Isaac Sim’s family and he was killed in a pointless and unwarranted shooting.

Galena Park Man Isaac Sims Pleaded Guilty

After 5 years of the murder incident, Isaac Sims pleaded guilty to murder.

Isaac Sims was charged with murder and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. He can’t appeal the conviction or the punishment and he has to serve at least half of the sentence before he’s eligible for parole.
