A suspect who was accused in a completely different Atascosa County murder apparently provided details to the police that finally led to the arrest of Justin Hunt, a 32 year old killer in this story.
Crude And Unnerving
In Live Oak, Texas, a man’s body was found dumped behind an empty apartment last month. It was tied up, beaten and injected with bleach. Something horrifying to this extent can only be thought of as a crude revenge or an intensive hatred but extremely demeaning and utterly inhumane. The law enforcement has charged a 32 year old man who goes by the name Justin Hunt in this case and he is known to be connected with the death of Matthew Pacheco-McKinney, whose body was found by Live Oak police in the 10800 block of O’Connor Road on the 7th of December, 2022.
Justin’s arrest happened on the afternoon of Wednesday, after a week long investigation by various agencies including the likes of Live Oak police, the San Antonio Police Department, the Texas Rangers and the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office. The body of the victim, Matthew, a 31 year old U.S. citizen was found covered in a blanket and a curtain with a few ropes tied around his abdomen while his right foot was wrapped in a black trash bag.
Traces of blood found in November by the San Antonio police from a stolen vehicle were the same as the blood found from the scene of Matthew’s murder. An informant had told the investigators that Matthew was murdered during a heated argument inside a home in the 7200 block of Montgomery Drive in mid-November. The apartment is listed as Hunt’s last known address.
Motive Unknown
The informant went on to say that Justin shot Matthew after Matthew got into a physical altercation with two other men inside the house, one of whom were David Castleberry. Justin stepped into the fight and shot Matthew. After this, he was tied up, tortured and injected with bleach before he finally died. His body was very calculatively placed inside a garbage bag and disposed off.
David was one of the two people charged with first degree murder in Atascosa County this month after a man was shot and his body was found dumped on the side of the road. When questioned by the police, he took them to the site where they had murdered Matthew. He also stated that there was a woman who had helped them in moving the body in a stolen vehicle. His co-defendant in the Atascosa County case told the investigators that Justin and David had also once killed and buried a woman in Justin’s backyard after receiving $20,000.
Justin is now being held without a bond at the Bexar County Jail on charges of murder, felon in possession of a firearm as well as a parole violation out of Austin city. Desselle, a 30 year old was charged with felony abuse of corpse after she turned herself into SAPD. Live Oak police officials confirmed Hunt’s home was being searched for some more conditional evidence, as of Thursday, the 26th of January, 2023.
