New York City Council Member’s Residence Trespassed; Two Arrested

The apartment of Erik Bottcher, the city council of New York City has been invaded by strangers on Monday. The trespassers are identified as the rivals of a drag-reading event. The intruders entered the property of the politician illegally and left messages that depicted sheer hatred. Police have taken two women into custody as prime suspects in the incident.

Bottcher has shared his concerns through his Twitter handle and warned the invaders that their endeavor to intimidate will go in vain.

Erik Bottcher’s Apartment Invaded in New York

On Monday at around 5 p.m. invaders trespassed the personal property in the Chelsea neighborhood, Manhattan of New York City Council Member, Erik Bottcher. The reports state that the intruders were the protesters of a drag reading event. The trespassers left the area leaving messages addressing him as predator and groomer. This was a direct threat to the politician as his privacy was violated.

Police have arrested two women as the prime accused of the crime. Nevertheless, at least 10 people seemed unusual in the neighboring area of Bottcher’s residence in New York. The investigation is still going on and more revelations are expected by the authorities.

Bottcher’s Reaction to Invasion Incident

Erik Bottcher was elected for his post to represent District 3 in 2021 and joined the office in January 2022. Last Saturday, a drag reading event was organized that was highly supported by the politician. He mentioned the importance of reading among children and their growth.

The opponents of this drag show attacked Bottcher personally by breaking into his house. He said that his attendants called the police after the incident took place. The politician has considered the act as unmasked and pure hate. He further addressed the intruders and said these steps of trespassing cannot intimidate him.
