As per the Food Stamps Schedule of December, residents of Georgia state who are short-listed for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will get their monthly payment on the 5th of December.
What benefits will Georgia people get according to Food Stamps Schedule?
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has been initiated to offer advantages to eligible individuals and families who have low incomes. The benefits can be claimed through Electronic Benefits Transfer cards on purchasing the sanctioned retail goods.
The SNAP EBT cards can be used by the beneficiaries to purchase dairy products, fruits and vegetables, cereals, bread, meat, poultry, and fish, among others.
They can further use it to buy seeds and samplings to sow agricultural products. They can also buy non-alcoholic beverages and certain snack items through these cards.
But, there is a list of items that cannot be procured using SNAP EBT Cards, including alcohol, pet food, cleaning supplies, cosmetics, medicines, vitamins, and live animals.
What are the additional benefits offered by Food Stamps?
Apart from retail products, the beneficiaries can get their hands on other benefits offered by SNAP EBT Cards. To begin with, cardholders can get up to 50% discounts on their Amazon Prime Membership.
Besides, they will get low-cost or free entry to nearly 850 museums throughout the United States. The cardholders can also buy fresh products from farmers’ markets at negligible prices.
Lastly, if the beneficiaries’ income is below specific levels, they can also qualify for affordable landline or cell phone services. They can procure this benefit from the Federal Lifeline Program.
Moreover, senior citizens who live on a permanent fixed income with unemployed household members can apply for the senior SNAP. The application process for this benefit is quite simple.
It is also worth noting that if any citizen loses any food item purchased through SNAP benefits in the wake of weather disasters or power outrages, they can receive replacement benefits within 10 days if they report their situation in real-time.
