One person has died in a horrific crash on the I-10 Katy Freeway on early Thursday morning. The incident took place around 5:45 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Barker Cypress.
Officials worked for more than three hours to figure out what went wrong and remove the wreckage from the freeway’s major channels.
Due to significant overcrowding on the feeder road, the traffic was redirected from all major routes onto Eldridge Road, and queues mounted substantially.
It is still not clear what exactly happened. A video from SkyEye showed a white SUV and an 18-wheeler appeared to be involved in the incident. Moving around Houston becomes a challenge, especially if a person is not familiar with the area.
