Senator Joe Manchin Reveals 2024 Plans
Senator Joe Manchin, a centrist Democrat, has often bucked his party on key issues, making him a target for criticism from both sides of the aisle.
According to NBC News, Senator Joe Manchin has remained silent about his political plans, but his filing date for the 2024 election is January 15. He also said that he will make his final decision “maybe a little bit before that — but not until the end of the year.”

Senator Joe Manchin Stresses the Importance of Unity
When asked whether he would run as a Democrat next year, Senator Joe Manchin responded that party identification should not change a person and that he will still fight for the things he believes in.
He also addressed the possibility of a third-party bid, saying that his political ambitions are to make the country work together and be the United States and not the divided states.
Senator Joe Manchin believes that the country needs a voice in the middle that can force both sides to come back from their extreme positions and find ways to solve problems. He believes that people should not be forced to pick a side and that solutions cannot come from the extreme right or extreme left.
The top target for Republicans that were looking to flip a seat is the West Virginia Senate race. So far, on the GOP side, there are two candidates namely Rep. Alex Mooney and coal miner Chris Rose. Many are still waiting for whether GOP Gov. Jim Justice jumps in. Senator Joe Manchin’s decision could have a significant impact on the outcome of the election and the balance of power in the Senate.
