According to Columbus police, no arrests have been made. No information on a potential suspect has been disclosed. Maddie Amilton, a local resident, told 10TV that she had previously heard gunshots in the vicinity, but that Saturday’s occurrence was different.
“That was rather terrifying,” stated Amilton. “It sounded like several gunshots, perhaps a dozen.”
Amilton reported seeing two individuals on the ground and others rushing and yelling. She desires that such occurrences receive greater attention and that the city enhance its safety measures.
Amilton stated, “I simply think that the communities who reside in this area deserve a lot more, and they need to be handled with respect and not ignored when anything negative occurs.”
There are repeated attempts to contact the nightclub for comment, but they did not answer. The event is still being investigated. Anybody with information is urged to contact the Columbus Police Murder Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
