Steve Bannon New Hired Lawyers Seek 90-Day Delay for Evidence Disclosures

In relation to the We Build the Wall fraud case, Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon made his court appearance on Tuesday with his new legal team, John Mitchell and David Schoen. The attorneys demanded a 90-day delay, lamenting the “explosion” of evidence disclosures.

The attorneys demanded more time to analyze the revealing evidence the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office provided and condemned it. After losing his first legal representation, Bannon retained new counsel, and they blamed him for a total communication breakdown, according to the ABC News post.

Judge Juan Merchan granted a 90-day respite. After his arraignment five months ago, Bannon will appear again on May 25 to move the case along. They must do more than keep delaying the finding, according to Merchan.

Daniel Passeser, an assistant district attorney, found it difficult to describe the various sources of evidence and the bulk of the files. The actual amount of discovery and the speed at which it was disclosed to the defense was criticized by Merchan. He retorted that Passeser could not select which information was crucial or pertinent to consider.

Steve Bannon Fraud

Bannon is guilty of disobeying Congress. He scammed We Build the Wall donors, and further criminal charges may be brought against him. He made up that all funds raised would go toward constructing the border wall.

He declared he would not go to prison as he casually waved in the hallways on his way to court on Tuesday, according to the  Law and Crime report.

The Department of Justice previously charged him with receiving almost $1 million raised through a corporate company. His co-defendants in the federal indictment were Timothy Shea, Andrew Badolato, and Brian Kolfage. Although all three of those individuals are guilty, Trump only pardoned Bannon prior to the trial.

Three activists held signs outside the courtroom, mocking Bannon’s mounting legal burdens. Activists were carrying posters that denounced Bannon’s dishonest behavior. Hashtags like #DeadBeat and #GreasyGrifter can be seen on signs.
