The ANCHOR program was created in replacement of the Homestead Benefit program. Now, over 900,000 renters and 1.2 million homeowners are eligible to receive payment, as long as they meet the income restrictions set by the New Jersey Division of Taxation. The payments are based on 2019 income, and homeowners making $150,000 or less will receive the full $1,500. Those making between $150,000 and $200,000 will get $1,000, while renters making $150,000 or less are eligible for $450.

Residents can apply for the payment online, by phone, or via mail, and approved applicants can expect payment via a check or direct deposit by May. This is a great opportunity for residents to receive some much-needed financial assistance, especially during these challenging times.

According to a published article in The US Sun, other states are also offering rebates. Montana is proposing $1,000 property tax rebates, while Minnesota is proposing relief checks between $1,000 and $2,000. The US Department of Energy is offering payments between $500 and $1,000 for residents making energy-efficient upgrades, and 12 states are offering payments to parents worth up to $1,000.

Overall, the ANCHOR program and other state rebate programs are a great way for residents to receive some extra financial support. With only seven days left to apply for the ANCHOR program, eligible residents should act quickly and take advantage of this opportunity before it’s too late.
