A 14-year-old girl who went missing over a year ago has been found hiding in a closet in Michigan, authorities announced. The teenager was reportedly discovered in a house in Port Huron, Michigan, around 62 miles from Detroit, by federal agents and a Child Protective Services agent on Tuesday. According to Deputy U.S. Marshal Robert Watson, who led the fugitive team that found the girl, she was afraid of losing her baby and was terrified when she was discovered. Watson received a call from the Michigan State Police missing children’s team asking for help with the case. The teenager had been missing for over a year, and authorities feared she may have been the victim of sexual assault.

After working on old tips and interviewing people, federal agents found the house where the teenager was hiding. The occupants of the house initially denied having seen her and gave false information, but the agents returned with a search warrant. The girl was found in a closet just a few steps away from where two men were watching television on a couch. One of the men was questioned by Watson, who was later alerted by one of his agents that they had found her.

According to Detroit Free Press, the teenager was ecstatic to be reunited with her father and expressed her desire to stay with him. Her father was equally overjoyed to be reunited with her. The authorities have yet to release any information about the circumstances surrounding the girl’s disappearance, but the case is under investigation.

This discovery brings hope to other families who may have lost their children and have not given up hope. It’s a reminder to all parents to keep a close eye on their children and to be vigilant about their safety. The investigation is ongoing, and more details about the case will be released in due course.
