Eligible Americans can receive a one-time payment after cosmetics retailer Sephora agrees to pay more than $1.77 million.
Customers can now receive cash after the company reached a settlement after plaintiffs accused Sephora of imposing higher state taxes on some purchases in Missouri.
Those who have been wronged will be paid directly based on the amount of tax charged on their Sephora purchase.
Please note that payments may vary depending on the total amount initially charged and the number of applicants.
The opt-out or objection deadline is February 16, 2023, with a final approval hearing scheduled for April 27, 2023.
Sephora denies wrongdoing, but agrees to pay.

Are you eligible?
Automatic refunds will be offered to those deemed eligible.
Full eligibility includes customers who purchased between March 1, 2015 and June 30, 2021.
This comparison also includes customers who have purchased at least one of her personal or physical retail products from the Sephora website or other remote means with taxes added at the time of purchase.
To be eligible, your purchase must have been shipped by or on behalf of Sephora from a location outside of Missouri to an in-state shipping address.
And importantly, at least some of the customer’s purchases were taxed at a higher tax rate than the seller’s sales tax rate.
In addition, the Settlement Fund covers notice and administrative costs, as well as attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses.
No claim form is required and those who do not self-exclude automatically receive retirement benefits.
