Direct Payments worth $400 to $600 will be released to four states in February – See If Your State is on the list
Several states and cities are working to help residents deal with the problem of high inflation. Grave obstacles are faced by Americans as high prices on rent, groceries, and other essential items increase. Luckily, Americans can look forward to receiving four direct payments this February.
The release of the relief payments in four different states will start next month and millions of Americans can get as much as $600 offered by their cities. This is to help them better meet their needs.
These are the four states that will start to release payments in February:
- IDAHO
Qualified residents of Idaho will receive the amount of $600 as a lump sum payment. The date of release is approximately February.
Idaho planned to reduce the record budget surplus of the state and cut taxes by allocating a package rebate initially approved in September 2022.
If qualified applicants filed late or experienced complications during the filing, the processing of payments will continue in March 2023.
Joint filers will receive $600 and each individual will get $300.
Idaho State Tax Commission expects 800,000 rebates to be sent out by the end of March 2023 totaling $500 million.
2. Chelsea, Massachusets
700 residents are set to receive up to $400 as the town of Chelsea Massachusetts started the second phase of their universal basic income program last December. The first phase was started from November 2020 through August 2021 giving 2,000 households monthly payments.
Beginning in late January and through March, recipients of the second phase will get their cash for three months.
The application deadline is January 6, Friday at 12 pm.
In order to qualify, the recipient must be a resident of Chelsea earning less than 30 percent of the median income area.
3. Coachella, California
The amount worth $400 will be released to 140 families in Coachella, California as monthly payments which will continue for two years. This is part of the universal basic income program (UBI). This month, the release of payments will start and will continue into February
The following details are the qualifications to receive the payment:
- a resident of the city of Coachella, California
- must be 18 years of age or older
- have a current non-expired government-issued ID
- must have at least one child under the age of 12 living in the household in 2021
- have an income of less than &75,000 in 2021
- total household income is below $150,000 in 2021.
- have filed 2019 or 2020 tax return
Once qualified, recipients may choose to deposit the funds monthly into their checking account or through a prepaid card to be received in the mail.
4. Alexandria, Virginia
No string attached payments worth $400 are set to be received by the residents in Alexandria, Virginia starting February.
The city is implementing its Recurring Income for Success and Equity program and sending out money is one of its objectives.
There are 170 recipients of the program. There are no restrictions in spending the money as accounts and expenses will not be reported.
