Sweden midfielder Kristoffer Olsson has been hospitalized with an urgent brain ailment after losing consciousness at home, his Danish club FC Midtjylland announced Tuesday. Olsson is on a ventilator at Aarhus University Hospital, according to the club, as a team of Denmark’s top medical professionals works to make a diagnosis and initiate the appropriate course of therapy.
Midtjylland said Olsson, 28, lost consciousness on Tuesday last week and was sent to the hospital, where he is surrounded by his immediate family and Midtjylland employees. “In view of the increasing rumors and speculation that are circulating about the reason for Kristoffer Olsson’s absence in the recent period, we are forced to make this announcement to the public.
The 28-year-old Swedish international lost consciousness in his home on Tuesday, 20 February, and was transferred to Aarhus University Hospital, where he has been admitted and on a ventilator,” Midtjylland said in a statement on their official website.
