Casey Charles Leichsenring, 18, of Arlington Heights, died on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Rock Island, Illinois, as a result of a spontaneous choice. He was an Augustana College freshman graduating from Buffalo Grove High School in 2023. Casey was named an Illinois State Scholar, AP Scholar, and National Merit Commended Scholar. According to some stories, he died by suicide in his college dorm room. Family and friends may pay their last respects on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Pastor Jeanne Murawski will officiate at the funeral service at 3 p.m. that day.

Casey Leichsenring was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois, on March 5, 2004. He graduated from John Hersey High School in 2022, where he excelled academically and participated in the marching band, jazz band, and choirs. After graduating, he enrolled at Augustana College to study music education. Casey had a tremendous desire to teach and inspire aspiring musicians.
Jessica Giurato and Jesse Leichsenring had three children, including Casey, the middle child. He was born August 12, 2005, in Baraboo, Wisconsin. Casey was a vibrant and enthusiastic child who frequently got into mischief and ate snacks. During his toddler and preschool years, his family nicknamed him “Hurricane Casey” because he seemed to unleash a whirlwind of commotion wherever he went. Casey is survived by his heartbroken parents, Jessica Giurato from Arlington Heights and Jesse Leichsenring from Baraboo, Wisconsin.
