He featured in 24 games for the Kent-based squad in The Football League, although only 20 were played when he suffered a leg injury. Before joining, he appeared in 80 games for the Football Conference. In just two seasons, he scored 28 goals and made 98 appearances for St Albans City, where he became a fan favorite.

He then gave performances for Dagenham & Redbridge and Margate. 2009 saw him join Whyteleafe. Piper’s former team, Gillingham, released a statement about his demise in January 2024. Among other significant events in his career, he scored a notable goal against Bristol City in 1996. Piper was more than just a player; he stood for commitment and passion.
