An Odessa woman receives a 40-Year sentence in prison for murdering her husband. She was found in Mexico after long months on the run.
Odessa Woman Fled to Mexico After Murdering Husband
In May of 2021, police authorities found a dead man during a welfare check requested by the relatives on East 7th Street.
The police later identified the dead man as 24-year-old Jacob Ledward, the husband of Odessa woman Clara Jassmin Ledward, 29 years old, News West 9 reported.
In connection with the investigation of the murder, they began searching for an Odessa woman named Clara Jassmin Ledward, who was 29 years old at the time of the murder.
According to the police, the Odessa woman allegedly killed her husband Mr. Ledward in Odessa on 16 May 2021. Police authorities have not disclosed how Mr. Ledward was murdered and also haven’t revealed a possible motive for the killing, the Independent reported.
Odessa woman Clara Ledward ran from police authorities for several months after the May 2021 murder after she fled to Mexico.

Odessa Woman Gets 40-Year Sentence for Murdering Husband
The Odessa woman was initially charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. She was deported to Brewster County for medical care.
In August of 2021, Odessa woman Ledward was again extradited to Odessa. She was held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center. Her bond was set at $1 million for murder and $15,000 for tampering with or falsifying physical evidence with intent to impair.
In the end, Odessa woman Ledward received a 40-year sentence for the murder charge.
