The North Texas mother is accused of murdering her 6-year-old son and her 5-year-old twins, a boy and a girl. The investigators also found that Hall’s 4-year-old son and 13-month-old daughter had been attacked with a knife and were injured. The two surviving children were taken to a hospital for treatment, USA Today reported.

It has now come to light that the accused North Texas mother has a criminal history, which raises serious questions about her ability to care for her children.

According to court records, Hall has been arrested twice before. Her first arrest was in 2017 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and later in 2020 for assault causing bodily injury after she bit someone. In both cases, she exhibited violent behavior and was a threat to those around her.

What is even more alarming is that Hall’s twin sister, Troyshaye Hall, has also been accused of committing an eerily similar crime. Troyshaye was charged with murder in 2021 after allegedly stabbing her own seven-year-old daughter to death in South Dallas,  CBS News reported. Court documents show that she was found incapable to stand trial and was sent to an in-patient mental health facility.

While CPS had placed North Texas mother’s children in temporary custody, it is not clear why Hall was at the home when the caseworker arrived. It is also not clear if her criminal history was taken into account when deciding whether or not to remove the children from the home.

Judge Dan Cox indicted Shamaiya Hall, issuing a $2,000,000 bond on each charge.
