Ivanka Trump Speaks Out About New York Fraud Case

In a New York fraud lawsuit, Ivanka Trump, the eldest child of twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, sought to blame her relatives. The 41-year-old former first daughter uncomfortably suggested that her 76-year-old father Donald and her brothers might have cheated the Trump Organization.

On October 2, 2023, a trial is scheduled in the New York attorney general’s case against the Trump Organization, which includes Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., 45, Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump, 39.

In 2022, the defendants were charged with perpetrating staggering fraud over a ten-year period, which they vehemently denied. As noted in the article, they are accused of providing over 200 fraudulent and deceptive appraisals between 2011 and 2021. According to AG Letitia James, Donald Trump, and the Trump Organization engaged in an amazing pattern of deception.

The state of New York has requested a $250 million monetary fine and a ban on the former president, Don Jr., Ivanka, and Eric from ever running a business in New York again, among other things if the Trump Organization and family are found to be at fault, the outlet notes.

The ex-legal team has countered that it would take 11,000 hours to study the evidence and that the trial should be postponed by six months. Ivanka’s legal team adopted a somewhat different strategy, VF continues.

Ivanka Trump’s attorneys claim in court documents that there is not a single allegation that she directly or indirectly prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements in the fraud complaint that Letitia James, the New York attorney general, filed against her and her codefendants last year. Her attorneys argued that other people were in charge of those tasks.

Her father and brothers are among the other defendants in the case, which makes things problematic. The Independent’s key point was that Ivanka threw her father under the bus in addition to her brothers.

Additionally, Ivanka’s attorneys claim that there is not a single claim in the lawsuit that Ms. Trump directly or indirectly created, prepared, reviewed, or certified any of her father’s financial statements,  despite the fact that James’ office has explicitly accused her of taking part in the alleged fraud.
