Dralin Carswell, 21, was charged with DUI on Tuesday while driving in Irwinton, Georgia, with his 17-year-old girlfriend Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson. Carswell was also detained on other offenses, including speeding, failing to maintain a lane, following too closely, and attempting to elude a police officer.
It leads to two days of detention after his arrest before being released on a $25,000 bond, according to the etonline.com report. When police checked the tags on Dralin’s car, they discovered that he had outstanding warrants in Wilkinson County.
One of his officers tried to conduct a “traffic stop” to investigate the status of the warrants. Dralin, however, refused to stop, and it led to three hours chase of being handcuffed. Dralin had marijuana on him when he was arrested and was brought into Monroe County.
When the cops were pursuing his boyfriend, Alana was in the car. Alana was picked up at the police station by her older sister, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, who is responsible for looking after her. The report said that he had also been detained in 2019.
Five Years Age Gap and Criticisms
Carswell and Thompson have been dating for over two years; she is five years his junior. The criticism of their age difference was addressed by Thompson in an interview in July. She claimed that despite the criticism, she is content with her relationship and that her sister supports it.
During a sit-down interview with ET’s Rachel Smith, Alana discussed her relationship with Dralin. Alana claimed that in addition to their age difference, Dralin’s ethnicity was also criticized.
Yet, Alana claims that her sister and Dralin’s mother are the two individuals whose opinions actually matter, regardless of what other internet commenters may believe. Pumpkin echoed her sister’s words and expressed her joy for Alana.
