Rep. Crenshaw Blasts Biden on Border and Fentanyl Amid Drug Arrests

Texas Rep. Crenshaw blasts Biden’s lack of action on the fentanyl crisis and the border issue after recent drug-related arrests. The arrest of the alleged leader of a fentanyl dealing ring in a Texas school district, responsible for three fatal overdoses and seven other overdoses, has highlighted the severity of the crisis.

Fentanyl is a potent opioid that can be up to 100 times stronger than morphine, and drug dealers have been known to lace counterfeit pills with the deadly substance according to Drug Enforcement Agency. The alleged ringleader used social media to coordinate drug deals, selling counterfeit pills to juveniles, who then distributed them to students in multiple Texas schools.

According to a published article in Fox news, Crenshaw took to Twitter to express his frustration with the Biden administration’s silence on the issue, stating that the “DEA seized enough fentanyl last year to kill every American citizen, but Joe Biden still won’t mention the Mexican drug cartels or their Chinese suppliers.” His criticism of the administration’s lack of action on the fentanyl crisis is shared by many Americans, as the record number of drug overdoses in 2021 has become a cause of concern.

The fentanyl epidemic continues to worsen, and its precursors are typically manufactured in China before being smuggled into the US through the border. Crenshaw’s blast of the Biden administration is a call to action for all leaders to take a stand against drug cartels and suppliers and work to prevent fentanyl from reaching our children. The recent drug arrests in Texas serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for action on the fentanyl crisis, and leaders must work towards finding a solution to end the deadly impact of fentanyl on America’s youth.
