As part of California’s Middle-Class Tax Refund, millions of Americans got one-time payouts ranging from $200 to $1,050. Eligible taxpayers who e-filed their 2020 CA tax return will get direct deposit payments.
California has begun distributing direct payments ranging from $200 to $1,050 to qualified taxpayers. The Middle-Class Tax Refund (MCTR) is a one-time payment designed to help the Californians. There was no need for an application, and eligible taxpayers will get the cash immediately.
As reported by the state of California, Middle-Class Tax Refunds benefit almost 19,596,737 people and their families. Payments are made through a direct deposit or a mail in the form of your debit card. About 95 percent of all MCTR payments, both direct deposit and debit cards combined, should be issued by the end of this year.
It depends on your adjusted gross income, payments range from $200 and $1,050.
You may be eligible to claim as a dependent if you filed your 2020 tax return by October 15, 2021, and meet the California adjusted gross income (CA AGI) limits. Also, you must be a California resident on the date the tax payment is issued (Fuller, 2023).
The payments are said to be completed by January 14, 2023.
