5 East Coast States Will Release Stimulus Checks in 2023 – Here’s What You Need To Know

The Federal government has helped Americans multiple times to better deal with supply chain problems and skyrocketing inflation. Relief initiatives like stimulus checks, tax rebates, debt relief, and many other programs were implemented to help residents cope with the pandemic.

Pandemic lockdowns that brought economic hardships may be considered over, but American suffering financial woes are not. According to the GOBankingRates survey, the total percentage of the American population who wants to see more stimulus money in 2023 is 62%.

Several programs giving out relief mostly come to an end. According to the prediction of some American experts, if the economy continues to slide into recession, although there is no guarantee, Congress will have to act and bring other kinds of relief to residents.

Regardless, several states on the East Coast have planned to have some kind of Stimulus from 2022 to 2023. This stimulus was in the form of rebates or surplus tax refunds. The initiative was based on the bills passed by the federal government.

Delaware: Relief Rebate Program

In Delaware, Relief Rebate Program is offered to resident adults 18 years of age and older who have filed their income taxes in 2021. The eligible resident may receive a one-time payment worth $300. According to the Delaware Department of Finance, checks were released in May or June for eligible applicants who applied in earlier 2022 while those who applied late on December 31 will have to wait for their checks sometime in 2023.

Massachusetts: Surplus Tax Refunds

The residents of Massachusetts are offered tax refunds as the state experienced a $ 3 billion surplus in the year 2022. The state decided to divide the money among its residents. Funds should have been received already by residents who filed their taxes in 2022. Residents who have filed their taxes before September 15, 2023, will still be eligible to receive the funds. They will receive their funds within a month after they filed, but not later than September 2023.

New Jersey: ANCHOR Program

The residents of New Jersey are offered property tax refunds through the Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR) program. This program is for homeowners and renters to receive tax refunds. Homeowners will receive $1,000 or $1,500 while renters will receive up to $450. January 31, 2023, is the last day for filing and applications are needed to be filed under the State’s Division of Taxation.

Pennsylvania: Property Tax Rebate

Pennsylvania offers benefits for senior citizens through property taxes or rent paid. This program started in 1971 and is still ongoing. The amount of $650 is set as the maximum standard rebate. Seniors who are eligible for supplemental rebates may receive up to $975.

Virginia: Bonus Tax Refunds

Virginia offers a program for eligible taxpayers through one-time bonus tax refunds amounting to $250 and $500 for joint filers. Checks were released through the mail in September. Eligible taxpayers who filed late will still need to wait as their checks may be released in early 2023.

Remember: If you haven’t heard of your state passing on any further stimulus checks and the economy slides into recession, you still have a chance.
