Authorities have reportedly made an arrest in relation to the death of a newborn who was abandoned into a Florida inlet more than four years ago, according to a story from the MSN website.
Details of the Report
A investigator with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office claims that Arya Singh, 29, confessed to dropping Baby June into the Boynton Beach Inlet and is now charged with first-degree murder.
On Thursday morning, the woman from Boynton Beach was detained. She will appear before the court at a hearing on Friday, according to WPBF.
It’s not known if Singh has a lawyer who can speak for her.
News Broke Out in Press Conference
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office made the news on Thursday during a press conference that was live-streamed on Facebook.
Baby June was found on June 1, 2018. Authorities claim that shortly after her May 30, 2018, birth, she was left in the water.
‘She’s The Mother And Totally Accountable On The Incident’
When a relative’s DNA was found to match that of the infant, Palm Beach County Detective Brittany Christoffel was able to piece together the case. She declared, “She’s the mother, and she’s entirely liable.”
According to PBSO Capt. Steven Stravelli, the organization got several suggestions, but none of them were successful. Eventually, the case became unsolvable, he claimed.
Baby’s Father Found Once Relative Matched
According to Christoffel, the baby’s father was found once the relative was matched.
The father provided the DNA, and he was quite helpful, according to Christoffel. He had a girlfriend at the time who told him she was pregnant but had taken care of it, but he had no knowledge of this baby. He speculated that she may have had an abortion.
Christoffel said that a clandestine DNA sample acquired from Singh matched the suspect.
