To get their annual rebate plus a one-time bonus rebate, Governor Tom Wolf recently announced that Pennsylvanians eligible for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) Program must register until Dec. 31, 2022.
Annual plus a one-time bonus rebate
Older and disabled Pennsylvanians eligible for a rebate on their 2021 property taxes may receive more money this year due to a proposal Gov. Wolf made earlier this year, according to Fox 43.
A one-time bonus refund equal to 70% of the initial rebate amount will be given to recipients in addition to the annual rebate.
The federal American Rescue Plan Act provides about $140 million in funding to cover the one-time bonus rebates.
Locals do not need to take any further action if they are qualified claimant of the Property/Tax Rent Rebate Program who has previously applied (PA-1000) for a rebate on real estate taxes or rent paid in 2021, Fox 43 revealed in a separate report.
For locals to guarantee that they will receive an initial rebate this year, the Department of Revenue says it will take care of everything on the back end.
Application process
For eligible claimants who still need to apply, eligible applicants are urged to do so. By going to myPATH, the Department of Revenue’s online filing platform, Pennsylvanians can do this online.
Creating an account (username and password) to utilize myPATH to apply is optional. Claimants can also access a paper application and instructions for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program by visiting www.revenue.pa.gov/ptrr.
