FedEx Driver Who Killed 7-Year-Old child from Cottondale Was Vocalist of Metal Group

Tanner Horner, a Dallas-based FedEx driver was taken into custody after he abducted and killed a 7-year-old girl named Athena Strand in Texas. The girl was from Cottondale, Florida and was heading back home from school. Sadly, she never reached her home but got kidnapped and killed. Horner has confessed that he strangled the victim to death after hitting her with his service van. The investigation reveals that the accused was also a part of the heavy metal group in Dallas, Commit & Conquer.

Tanner Horner, the FedEx driver and the murderer of Athena Strand was apparently a vocalist in the Dallas-based heavy metal music group Commit & Conquer. The information was gained from his Instagram handle.

As per Dallas Observer, he performed in venues like The Prophet Bar and Reno’s Chop Shop in Dallas, The Peppermint Lounge and J&J’s Pizza in Denton in Fort Worth alongside the music group in 2018 and 2019.

Why the FedEx driver killed the child?

On November 2nd, the police department of Wise County, Texas filed an abduction and murder case of a 7-year-old girl named Athena Strand in the locality. According to the reports, Athena was missing for two days and on the 2nd of December, her body was found following the confession of her killer. She stayed with her father and stepmother in Cottondale.

The child was last located leaving her school bus near her residence. However, she never entered the house. After two hours after the incident, Athena’s stepmother reported that she was missing. The police started searching for the girl but couldn’t get any lead.

Along with the police, the FBI, Texas Rangers, and the Texas Department of Public Safety also got involved in the case.

Following locating the body of the child, police arrested Tanner Horner with the allegations of abducting and killing Athena Strand. Later, the murderer was booked with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping charges.

While serving in the Wise County jail, Horner confessed his crime and mentioned he hit Athena with his van but she wasn’t critically injured. But he got scared and put her in the van. Later, Horner killed her by strangling her.
