Brittany McKinney, a 29-year-old Greensboro, North Carolina resident, has pleaded guilty to the infamous 2022 New Year’s Day Triple murder case. She has received three life sentences without parole for the heinous crime she committed.
Brittany McKinney’s Brutal Crime
The 29 years old North Carolina mother was accused of fatally shooting her 10-year-old daughter and 2-year-old niece, and she live-in a partner.
A call was made to the Greensboro Police Station by a good samaritan who asked them to check into McKinney’s residence at around 11 am on January 1, 2022.
When the cops arrived at the scene, they found the bodies of the three deceased lyings motionless on the floor. All three of them lost their lives due to gunshot wounds.
It is worth noting that the prime accused, Brittany, had already fled the place after committing this unforgivable crime. She allegedly took her deceased live-in partner Griffin’s 2011 GMC SUV.
She was later arrested when she collided her vehicle into a utility pole and slammed into a two-wheeler in the 2200 block of Wendover Avenue. Luckily no one was harmed in this collision.
Therefore, Brittany McKinney was charged with both the murder and the hit-and-run case.
Brittany McKinney’s Confession
As per reliable sources, Brittany’s sister Delilah Merrit revealed to the police that she got a call from her accused sister after the murder.
In the call, Brittany McKinney confessed to having killed her daughter, niece, and her live-in partner. She blabbered that she killed her ‘baby’ with everyone at home.
As of now, the cops have not revealed the exact cause behind this crime. Even though Brittany’s deteriorating mental health condition might have triggered this murder.
Her mother, Denise McKinney Weeks, was shocked by the whole incident. She asserted that her daughter has always been a warm and loving person.
She added that Brittany was a doting mother who could never harm her child. Therefore, what made her take this step remains a mystery to date.
