37-year-old Ashley Barlow was shot and killed by her husband on Saturday. Her family claims that her husband Terry Barlow had been abusing her for years. Terry was arrested on charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Terry Barlow hunted down his wife
Beaumont police said they arrested Terry at the scene. During the investigation, police say Terry placed a GPS tracker on her vehicle and saw that she was in the 600 Langham Road area on Oct. 23. The witness with Ashley said that Terry was angry when he showed up and began arguing with Ashley.
Police say Terry brandished a gun during the dispute but ended up driving away. Terry eventually returned to the scene, chasing Amy while also firing shots. The witness quickly hid behind a nearby building. Terry caught up with his wife and shot her multiple times in the chest.
Ashley pleaded for her life
Video footage available revealed audio of Ashley screaming and pleading for her life. Police pronounced her dead at the scene. Terry eventually turned himself into law enforcement, claiming he wanted to do what was right. 12News spoke to Ashley’s sister Amanda Buck, who said she had wanted a divorce and attempted to break away from him.
Terry Barlow was arrested and is being held on a bond set at $1 million for the murder charge and $500,000 for the aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Ashley’s sister has created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and support her two children.
