Texas Governor Greg Abbott Says President Joe Biden Abandoned Everyone Living In The Border

Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently blasted United States President Joe Biden regarding his open border policies. He noted that it was a catastrophic move and resulted in abandoning everyone living on the border.

Fox News reported that Abbott commented about the matter during an exclusive interview with him via “Sunday Morning Futures.” Abbott noted that Biden completely abandoned the ranches, residents, and the people who live on the border as his open border policies put these people in danger.

Abbott Notes Abandoned People Voted For Democrats

Abbott also shared during the exclusive interview that the people in the counties that are in danger because of the open border policies the Biden administration put in place are the same people who voted for Democrats. Abbott went on to tell host Maria Bartiromo that when he traveled to the southern border last week, there have been many changes. He compared it to how it looked now and a year ago when former President Donald Trump implemented policies that led to the most significant reduction in border crossings.

Fox News quoted Abbott saying of the situation in the southern borders now, “But now, we’re seeing the highest number of cross border crossings, and it’s all because of the catastrophic open border policies by the Biden administration.”

Crossings Overwhelm Border Patrol Agents

The crossings at the southern border overwhelmed Border Patrol agents. Further, it caused a political headache for the Biden administration. Fox News witnessed these crossings last week as they went to tour the border near Mission, Texas. The publication noted that they saw groups of migrants, primarily families, being pointed toward nearby processing areas.

Border patrol agents told Fox News that migrant families were most likely allowed to stay under Title 42 of the public health protections. The increase in crossings came after the Biden administration ended the Migrant Protection Protocols, which kept migrants in Mexico as they waited for their immigration proceedings, and the Asylum Cooperative Agreements, which would have allowed migrants to only claim asylum in Northern Triangle countries.

Fox News further reported that Republicans blamed the Biden administration for the increase in crossings because they ended the border wall construction. Abbott then told “Sunday Morning Futures” that Texas is now stepping up to do more to help secure the state. The state devoted more than $3 billion to secure the border.
