Dallas Police Northeast Station Evacuated after Cleaning Crew Finds ‘Suspicious Package’

A cleaning crew employee at the Dallas Police Department Northeast Patrol Station found a suspicious package on Thursday in a public area in the station at 9900 E Northwest highway.

The employee immediately reported it to officers which prompted an evacuation of all employees in the facility as a precaution.

The Explosive Ordinance was notified instantly and assessed the situation as soon as they arrived on the scene, NBCDFW reported.

The EOD team identified the “package” as a motor from a vacuum cleaner. No notes were left behind or any signs of threats directed at the station. The station is now back to normal and operating as usual.
