21-Year-Old Killed In Drive-By Shooting In East Harris County; Wife, Daughter Safe

A 21-year-old man has died after he was shot inside his home in East Harris County in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting Sunday morning, authorities said.

According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the family identified the victim as Anthony Lanza. They said the suspect drove by Lanza’s residence on the 14600 block of Waldine Street in East Harris County and fired several rounds towards the home, striking him, Click 2 Houston reported.

Two Adults, 1 Child Were Inside Home When Shots Were Fired

According to the deceased’s father, his wife and young daughter were inside the home when the shooting happened. They were not injured.

Suspect Still Unknown

According to the deputies, the suspect drove by the home at around 5.30 a.m. and opened fire several times. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

There are still no word on the suspect, the vehicle used, and the motive for the fatal shooting. Anyone with information is asked to come forward and call HCSO at 713-274-9100 or CrimeStoppers at 713-222-8477.

Earlier this month, a 21-year-old Hispanic man was found dead near his car at the parking lot of an apartment complex in north Harris County.

Investigators said that they received reports that multiple shots were fired in the 100 block of Hollow Tree Lane just before 7 a.m. on Sept. 16. They found the body next to a newer model blue Ford Mustang, KHOU.com reported.

The deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said that during the investigation, they found that the victim had passed by a woman on the stairs of the apartment complex, while he was on his way to his car. Apparently, when the woman reached the door to her apartment, she heard multiple gunshots.
