Garrison Brown’s Cause of Death:
The late Garrison Brown, son of Kody and Janelle Brown, stars of Sister Wives, passed away. He was twenty-five. With the words, “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Janelle announced the tragedy on Instagram on Tuesday. For everyone who knew him, he was a source of happiness.
We shall be left speechless at the void his passing has left in our lives. Please respect our privacy and join us in paying tribute to his memory.”
According to the Flagstaff Police Department’s Lieutenant Charles M. Hernandez II, who spoke with PEOPLE, “On 03/05/2024, Flagstaff Police officers responded to a report of a death inside a home.” The FPD verified that Gabriel, Garrison’s 22-year-old brother, “discovered Mr. Brown deceased” in what seemed to be a suicide.
“At this time, there is no indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating,” Lt. Hernandez said in her statement.
“We are devastated to hear of the tragic loss of Garrison Brown,” TLC said to PEOPLE. We offer the Brown family our sincere condolences and sincerest sympathy during this trying time.
Who was Garrison Brown?
In the TLC series that followed the polygamist family’s daily lives, Garrison debuted in 2010 alongside his mother, Janelle, and his father, Kody’s other wives, Meri, Christine, and Robyn Brown.
Madison, Logan, Garrison, Gabriel, Hunter, and Savanah are the couple’s six children, born after Janelle’s spiritual marriage to Kody in 1993. Janelle disclosed that she and Kody had split up in December 2022.
After Christine declared her separation from Kody, she became the second matriarch of the Brown family to depart. Robyn was the last wife left of the Brown patriarch after Meri and Kody announced their separation shortly after Janelle’s declaration.
The connection between Kody and his children has deteriorated over time; in particular, they were “at odds” with him after voicing their “discontent” with how he managed the COVID-19 epidemic.
Gabriel said, “I was met with just a wall,” at the time. Additionally, there was no conversation. That is what ultimately strained our relationship.
Later, in a candid interview, Janelle voiced her worries about her kids’ tense connection with their father. “My concerns are on the mental well-being of my youngsters. Gabriel has a profound sense of everything. She said, “But he’s also the kid who doesn’t say anything,” and then described Garrison as “not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be,” saying that he “just seems angry or sadder.”
In a May 2023 episode, Kody also addressed the divide that had grown between him and his boys. He admitted then, “I haven’t been in touch with Gabriel and Garrison for quite a while.” “The fact that I’m no longer close to them makes me sad. We just done so many wonderful, memorable things together throughout our lives; they were truly unique experiences.”
“I think and hope we’ll just get over this and be safe being around each other again,” he continued. There’s no open door between Gabe and Garrison at the moment. They are unwilling to interact with me.
