Dinners around Christmas are usually a challenge. On Christmas Eve, the family goes all out, spending a lot of money on elaborate feasts that include turkeys, hams, prime rib, and weeks of effort to prepare. Unfortunately, when Christmas Day arrives, they are exhausted and don’t want to cook again.
There are a few eateries in Southeast Texas that will have restricted hours on December 25 but most will close early on Christmas Eve and be closed on Christmas Day. A few charitable groups will provide people in need with complimentary Christmas Day dinners. To confirm hours, it is advised to check in with the location closest to you.

- Tia Juanita’s: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Danny’s Burgers: 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- From 11 am to 9 pm, Outback Steakhouse is open.
- Great China is open from 11:30 am until 8 pm.
- Chaba Thai is open daily from 11:00 to 9:30 p.m.
- Black Bear Diner: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The Schooner: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- From 10 am to 10 pm, Bruno’s Italian Kitchen is open.
- Pappadeaux: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- From 11 am to 2:30 pm, Tokyo Steak House & Sushi Bar is open.
- 19:00–20:00 Buckstin Brewing Company
- Golden Corral Grill & Buffet, open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saltgrass Steakhouse: reservations are necessary; open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

- Five Below Golf Center: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Temple Emanuel members are assisting Some Other Place in Beaumont in organizing a “formal dining experience” for their patrons. S.O.P., located at 590 Center St. in Beaumont, will offer supper on Christmas Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
