US Model Found Deceased in Fridge had Cocaine and Alcohol in Her System

The New York Post recently obtained the latest autopsy report concerning a Los Angeles model whose lifeless body was discovered in her downtown apartment last month, where she had been placed in a refrigerator with her wrists and ankles bound and her mouth gagged. Maleesa Mooney, a 31-year-old, was found lifeless in her upscale apartment on September 12. Earlier this month, the LA County Medical Examiner’s Office had classified her death as “homicidal violence.” Gruesome details regarding the discovery of her remains in her apartment were disclosed in an autopsy report made available to The Post last Friday.

The report revealed that Ms. Mooney had been subjected to physical assault and restrained before being placed inside her own refrigerator. Furthermore, the autopsy uncovered signs of blunt force trauma on various parts of her body and detected traces of cocaine and alcohol in her system.

In the autopsy report, the medical examiner commented on the blunt force injuries, noting that these injuries alone typically do not pose an immediate threat to life. However, considering the circumstances in which Ms. Mooney was discovered, these injuries strongly suggest her involvement in a violent physical altercation preceding her demise. The report also stated that it remains uncertain whether drugs and/or alcohol played a role in Ms. Mooney’s death, if any.

No arrests have been made in connection with this case, according to PEOPLE’s report. Last month, the 31-year-old model was found deceased in her apartment after her mother contacted the police for a “welfare check” on her daughter. Upon entering the apartment, officers encountered a pool of blood beneath her body, which was wedged inside the refrigerator.

Based on the numerous blunt force injuries and the condition in which her body was found, officials concluded that Ms. Mooney’s death was a homicide. Evidence also suggests that she had been strangled.

Ms. Mooney’s sister, Pauline, informed PEOPLE that her late sister was two months pregnant at the time of her death and had always dreamt of becoming a mother. She expressed that her sister had been eagerly looking forward to motherhood. Pauline also mentioned that her late sister’s boyfriend was deeply affected by the incident.

Meanwhile, Ms. Mooney’s tragic death has raised concerns among local residents, particularly following the discovery of another model deceased in her downtown LA apartment. However, the police have asserted that the two cases are unrelated.

In a separate incident, an autopsy report concerning Nichole Coats, a 32-year-old, who was feared to have been murdered by her family members, showed that her demise resulted from an accidental overdose of cocaine and alcohol.
