Alaska

Residents of Alaska will continue to receive their Permanent Fund Dividend payment in 2022, which is a payment made to residents as part of the sharing of the state’s oil profits. This year’s check is worth $3,284, as it was combined with an energy relief payment as well. Unfortunately, residents will have to report this payment on their 2023 taxes.

Connecticut

Connecticut is sending out bonus cash payments to workers who continued to work during the height of the pandemic. Depending on their income, workers could receive between $200 and $1,000 through the state’s Premium Pay program. Around 20,000 payments are being sent out, with 120,000 being sent through direct deposit and 35,000 by paper check this month.

Idaho

The Idaho Tax Commission is sending out 75,000 checks each week, with a total of over 800,000 expected to be sent by the end of March. Single filers are eligible to receive $300, while married couples filing jointly are set to get $600.

Approximately 880,000 residents are eligible for the program, and the state is distributing roughly 200,000 payments worth $450 on a weekly basis. To be eligible, a person must be a full-time resident of the state who wasn’t claimed as a dependent and filed their 2021 tax return.

Minnesota

Artists in the Minnesota area will receive a monthly payment of guaranteed income worth $500 for the next 18 months through the Springboard for the Arts pilot program. The program will cover 75 artists from St. Paul and Otter Tail County areas, with participants being randomly selected from a pool of registered artists.

South Carolina

Some eligible residents in South Carolina will have the opportunity to have their tax liabilities granted to them, with a maximum of $800 available as a tax rebate.

Overall, these six states are offering rebates and relief checks to their residents to help ease the financial burden of the pandemic. It’s important for residents to stay informed about what’s available to them and to take advantage of any assistance programs that can help them through this challenging time.
