Texas Man Executed For Killing Estranged Wife, Drowning 6-Year-Old Daughter!

Texas Man Executed For Killing Family Members

Gary Green, a Texas man convicted of fatally stabbing his estranged wife and drowning her 6-year-old daughter in a bathtub, was executed on Tuesday. Green’s attorneys did not file any appeals desiring to stop the execution, and a Buddhist spiritual adviser stood beside him during his final moments. Green apologized profusely and asked for forgiveness from his victims’ family members. He was pronounced dead 33 minutes after receiving a lethal dose of pentobarbital.

Authorities said Green committed the killings after his estranged wife sought to annul their marriage. On the day of the killings, she wrote two letters to Green, telling him that she had to do what was best for her. In his letter, which was angry and rambling, Green expressed the belief that his wife and her children were involved in a plot against him.

Green’s execution was witnessed by some of the justice systems at work. Ray Montgomery, the father of the 6-year-old victim, said that he wasn’t cheering for Green’s execution but saw it as justice for his daughter’s torture and his wife’s murder.

This week, Green’s execution was the first of two scheduled in Texas according to USA Today. Green was also one of six Texas death row inmates participating in a lawsuit seeking to stop the state’s prison system from using what they allege are expired and unsafe execution drugs. Despite a civil court judge in Austin preliminarily agreeing with the claims, four Texas inmates, including Green, have been executed this year.

The execution of Gary Green was carried out after he was found guilty of killing his estranged wife and her 6-year-old daughter. He apologized to his victims’ family members before receiving a lethal dose of pentobarbital. The execution was seen as the justice system at work, and it was the first of two scheduled executions in Texas this week.
