A North Texas mother is in custody after reportedly stabbing her five children, killing a 6-year-old and two 5-year-old twins. Two children, ages 4 and 13-months-old, were hospitalized and their conditions are unknown at this time, according to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.
Shamaiya Hall, 25 of Forney, was reportedly arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder of multiple persons on Friday, March 3. According to WFAA, Hall allegedly stabbed the children when a Texas Department of Family and Protective Services worker arrived unannounced at a home in Italy under suspicion that she was having unsupervised visitation with her children, which were previously placed in the guardianship of another relative.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said the CPS worker quickly called emergency services for help. “We are shocked by this incomprehensible tragedy, and already working with law enforcement to investigate how this happened, and why,” CPS said in a statement. “Italy ISD is deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred off-campus this evening. Words cannot express the overwhelming grief felt by the district and the community hearing of such a tragedy. We are a tight-knit, small community and as such many students will be impacted by this incident,” the district said.
WFAA reports that Hall was arrested in 2017 after she allegedly stabbed her sister’s boyfriend. Hall’s twin sister, Troyshaye Mone Hall, was also reportedly arrested in the stabbing death of her 7-year-old daughter in June 2021. Hall remained in the Ellis County Jail on Saturday, March 4, and her bond set at $6 million. MySA has reached out to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
