Gun Violence: Arizona Teen Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Being Shot

A 15-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries, after being shot in an Arizona gun violence Tuesday morning.

The boy was walking on his way to school when he was shot by unidentified suspects, police in Great Falls, Montana said. The Arizona gun violence happened just before 8 a.m. Residents in the area heard gunshots just before 8 a.m. and then heard the victim screaming that he had been shot and was asking for help. They immediately called the police and reported the incident. 

The victim was directly taken to the hospital. Students and staff at Great Falls High School were asked to shelter in place while police officers searched for the suspects, who reportedly ran away after the shooting, Fox News reported.  After 45 minutes of looking for the suspects, the students and staff felt relief that they were already caught.

The police have taken two suspects into custody, but their names have not yet been released. Police said that a 14-year-old boy is in custody on suspicion of assault with a weapon.

According to Waco Tribune-Herald,  A 16-year-old, and a 15-year-old were initially interrogated before the 14-year-old was taken into custody and the gun was found. The boy is a homebound middle school student, who can take classes online, but is not allowed on school property, officers said.

The gun violence was a result of ongoing disagreements, police said. The victim was out of surgery by Tuesday afternoon and police said he was hospitalized in stable condition.
