A judge set bond for a Humble teen accused of murdering his mother and stuffing her body in a vehicle trunk at more than $1 million on Thursday.
After a pursuit and accident, Tyler Roenz was detained in Nebraska back in October. After that, he was sent to Harris County on extradition charges related to the beating and strangulation murder of his mother, Michelle Roenz, 49. He crashed the automobile he was driving, and his passengers discovered her dead in the trunk.
Prior to that, according to court documents, Tyler and Michelle Roenz had been reported missing when Michelle’s husband, who is also Tyler’s father, returned home to find a gory scene with at least five human teeth. Also missing was his automobile.
Tyler Roenz, who was charged with a third-degree felony after a high school girl said he tried to sexually assault her during an attack in February of last year, was out on a $15,000 bail at the time of their disappearance.
Tyler Roenz will be placed under 24-hour house arrest and is not permitted to speak with his father if he is successful in posting bond this time.

After her son, 17, led them on a chase before losing control, Michelle Roenz was discovered dead last Friday, according to Nebraska law enforcement officials.
A report from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office states that the victim passed away from strangling and blunt force trauma.
According to court documents, the two were reported missing on Thursday when Michelle’s husband, who is also Tyler’s father, returned home to find a violent, unsettling scene that included at least five human teeth. Also missing was his automobile.
Tyler was previously only charged with using a car without permission, but sources tell KHOU 11 that after he has fully healed from his injuries, he will be hauled back to Harris County to answer to more serious charges.
Sexual Assault Charge
At the time of his disappearance, Tyler was free on a $15,000 bail after being charged with a 3rd-degree felony after a high school girl said he tried to sexually assault her during an attack in February. On that accusation, he made an appearance in court in April.
He picked up the alleged victim from school, according to court records, and seized her phone. He reportedly grew irate when she attempted to retrieve it, according to court records.
Then, according to court documents, he tried to pull off her trousers before ripping off her top and bra, biting her repeatedly on the back, punching her, groping her breasts, and forcing her out of the car while still partially clothed. She needed sutures after being struck in the face by a kick from him afterwards.
