President Biden signaled support for further economic relief measures to address the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic by giving stimulus checks.
Initially, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted bipartisan action to provide financial assistance to the public during lockdowns. The first and second stimulus checks were supported by lawmakers from both sides of the aisle. However, after President Biden took office, Republicans stopped supporting the idea of further financial relief.
