According to officials, Sills is accused of engaging in non-consensual sexual activity and holding a victim against their will. The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office immediately launched an investigation after the alleged crime was reported.

Sills, 25, was a rookie in the 2022 NFL season and played in one regular season game for the Eagles. The indictment comes at a critical time for the team as they are set to compete in Super Bowl LVII.

First-degree felonies are considered the most serious of crimes in Ohio and carry severe penalties. If convicted, Sills could face life in prison. However, it is important to note that an indictment is not a conviction and Sills is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Eagles organization has not yet made a statement regarding the indictment, but it is sure to bring attention to the team as they prepare for one of the biggest games of the year. The NFL has also not made a statement, but the league has a strict policy against players involved in criminal activity and could potentially face disciplinary action if found guilty.

The alleged victim and their family are likely to face a difficult time as the case unfolds, and their privacy should be respected as they pursue justice. The indictment of Josh Sills raises serious questions and the situation is being closely monitored by the public and media. The case will now proceed to court and the outcome will be determined based on the evidence presented.
