Philadelphia police followed up on an anonymous tip that led to finding a corpse encased in concrete in a home last Monday afternoon. The information concerned a woman who was last seen alive about eight years ago, it is said that she was buried there, reported Express UK.
The house where they found the dead body was on Burton Street in the Wissinoming section of the city as indicated by the tip, noted WPVI.
Entering the property; the investigators saw it was a hoarder who lived there and took two days to take away the rubbish and other filth in the unkempt home.
Grisly discovery after mounds of trash
On Thursday night the human remains had been seen and this was verified by the authorities to the news outlets.
Last Monday they had seen the remainder which was buried under a foot of cement and did the tedious removal of the cadaver from its casing. An autopsy would be scheduled by the medical examiner.
Investigators will need to find out if the person’s death would be by natural causes or if foul play is involved; before getting locked in concrete. The remains have not been identified by the police yet.
According to residents in the neighborhood who had said the family who stayed in the house was not there.
One of the residents is Melissa Rosario who observed the police park right on the block during the last six days.
She added that no one knew what had happened and a lot was going on. It took a long time to clean the house and think if there was a body in the cement or not, but there was for eight years.
Some other residents in the lane spoke to WCAU about the police and workers all decked in hazmat suits. Plus, all the activity after the search, how long they would be at the house was not known.
