Corpus Christi, as one of Texas’ most popular Gulf Coast destinations, has a plethora of lovely beaches to visit.
There are a variety of fantastic sites near the bay that cater to a wide range of interests. Horseback riding is available at some locations, and others are remote and private, making them ideal for families. Beaches in Corpus Christi and within a short distance of the city have been featured.
Whatever your hobbies are, one of Corpus Christi’s top beaches is undoubtedly the place for you!
Corpus Christi’s North Beach
The majority of people believe in North Beach when they think of Corpus Christi beaches. This beach is 1.5 miles of pedestrian shoreline, and automobiles are not permitted in this area.
The Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier transformed museum, are both located on this beach in Corpus Christi. There is a lovely Ferris wheel nearby that offers a view of the entire cityscape, as well as a promenade for strolling along the lake.

Whitecap Beach
Whitecap Beach, as the name suggests, is a 1.5-mile stretch of white sand beach near the Padre Island SeaWall.

McGee Beach

You may go catching fish off the piers or spend time constructing sandcastles on the beach. Near the water, fishing equipment is also available for hire. There is just one entrance to the beach, and you must have a permit to park there. Bring lawn chairs or extra towels to lay out on the beach because it is a little more secluded.
Port Aransas Beach
Although Port Aransas is not technically part of Corpus Christi, it is only a 15-minute drive away.
Port Aransas is located directly over the water from downtown and offers the same amenities and beach activities. The beach is relatively open and spacious, and it is also quite convenient because several of Port Aransas’ local resorts are located on the shore.
There are some parking spaces that are free and others that require a permit. A yearly beach parking pass can be purchased for $12. Additionally, permits for small campfires are available.
The beach is patrolled by lifeguards, making it ideal for families with little children.
Michael J. Ellis Beach
Michael J. Ellis Beach is the place to go if you want to go to a more popular beach. The Padre Island Seawall is only a mile away, and this beach provides plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sun and sand.
There are lifeguards on duty to supervise swimmers and surfers, and the beach is also restricted to vehicular traffic, making it a terrific, safe alternative. Around the beach, there are exciting seasonal merchants, and you can even ride your bike out for a sunset ride.
It is a practical alternative for families because there are restrooms and showers on site.
Malaquite Beach
Malaquite Beach is a great place to spend time with family and friends. It is not to be confused with South Padre Island, which is part of the Padre Island National Seashore. Padre Island National Seashore is truly a national park that is protected!
There is a popular visitors center with all of the essential information about the beach as well as a number of public facilities to use. This stretch of beach is car-free, and there are facilities and showers to clean up in before heading out again after a long day of surfing or swimming. This region is generally recognized to as one of Corpus Christi’s cleanest beaches, and the $10 per vehicle entrance charge is well worth it!
Padre Balli Surf Park
Padre Balli Surf Park is the place to go if you’re seeking a one-stop-shop among Corpus Christi’s best beaches.
Because there is no automobile traffic, this site is ideal for children. There are other restaurants around where you may grab a quick bite.
At the headquarters, there are public facilities and showers. Because of the water and electrical campsites, this is a fairly popular camping place. In the park, there are also cabanas and picnic tables. On a first-come, first-served basis, they are available. The beach is free to enter, but parking on the beach requires a parking permit.
Padre Island Seawall Beach
The Seawall Beach on Padre Island runs from Whitecap Beach to South Packery Beach. Because the beach is closed to automobile traffic, it is ideal for families.
If you wish to go rollerblading or bicycling near the water, the seawall is roughly 14 feet above the water. It also offers expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico. Parking near the beach is free without a permit; however, parking on the beach requires a permit, which can be obtained online or in person.
