Shirley Annette Harbin Richey, 84, of Russellville, passed away on March 3, 2024 at her residence. She was born on August 15, 1939 to Cecil and Etta (Cothrum) Harbin in Franklin County.
She was predeceased by: her father Cecil Harbin; her husband J. C. Richey; her mother Etta Cothrum Harbin (Cothrum); her siblings, Elba Hayes and Tommy Harbin; her son-in-law Randie Jones; and her grandchild Shannon Jones.
She was a member of Liberty Chapel Freewill Baptist Church for more than 40 years and was a charter member of the church when it was originally established. Shirley put in many hours to help build the church and served as a mentor for many of the other members.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Akins Funeral Home (13455 Hwy 43, Russellville, AL 35653). The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Liberty Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
