Burbage Murder Investigation:
Gregor Bauld, 22, who was accused of murdering Christine Bauld, did not enter a plea. A young man has been charged with killing a woman at her residence and has shown up in court. When police arrived at The Coppice in Burbage, close to Hinckley, on Sunday morning, they discovered 55-year-old Christine Bauld seriously hurt.
After all, attempts to save her failed, Gregor Bauld was accused of killing her the following evening. This morning, he made his appearance at Leicester Magistrates’ Court. The couple’s relationship was not disclosed in court.
Throughout the brief hearing, Bauld, 22, said his name and birthdate before characterizing his residence as “no fixed abode.” According to what the court heard, Gregor was accused of killing the lady and of carrying a kitchen knife in The Coppice while out in public.
Pleas were not entered. Bauld’s attorney, Ishtiaq Sarwar, stated that no bail request would be made. Later this week, Bauld was informed by Roger Wood, the chairman of the magistrates’ bench, that he would be before a judge at
Leicester Crown Court. This is the usual process for murder charges, which the higher court will handle. We are unable to handle this matter here, Mr. Wood informed Bauld. The crown court must hear it. He further stated: “There’s no application for bail, so you’re remanded into custody until then.”
“Specialized officers are supporting Mrs. Bauld’s family during this tough time,” the police stated following the hearing.
