“To his loved ones, we want to express our solidarity and love in these difficult times, reiterating that FC Juárez is and will always be an extended home for our beloved Diego.

Many of Juarez’s fellow Liga MX sides added their own tributes. Club Necaxa tweeted:
“Rest in peace, ‘Puma’… On behalf of all of us who are part of the Necaxa Club, we extend our condolences to his family and friends, as well as to all the members of Juarez.” “This news hurts us a lot. All our strength with his family and friends. Goodbye, ‘Puma’!”
