The Georgia State Patrol reported that at 10:09 p.m., Deputy Timothy Tavarus Rivers, 40, was responding to a dispatch to assist another officer when his patrol car crossed the center line and raced onto the shoulder. According to GSP, as the constable attempted to adjust the car’s route, he collided with an approaching vehicle, WGXA reports. According to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy and a passenger in the other vehicle were transferred to Atrium Navicent Health via ambulance. The driver of another car was also treated for his injuries.
